Leaving on a jet plane

CRAMMING my packing session to get out the door. It's hot and I'm sweaty sitting at the laptop. What's wrong with me?!

Can't wait to see my man and Baltimore and Chicago and my friends... I can't wait. I need this.

Peace out LA! ♥

To-do...

Friday night I'm jumping on a redeye to Baltimore to finally see my love. Going to be there for 5 days and then we're driving (yes, driving!) to Chicago to meet Eric's family. Here's my to-do list. We haven't seen each other in more than TWO MONTHS so I want this to be really special.

10. Go see
The Orphan because Eric likes these cheesy horror movies and I heard there's a great twist at the end.

9. Check out
Sue the T-Rex at the Field Museum. She is the largest, most preserved T-Rex in (known) existence. I haven't been to a real museum in years. I want to see dinosaurs! The Field Museum also has Egyptian mummies and Mayan artifacts. Sign me up!

8.
RX Bandits in Chicago Thursday night. Lots of old friends going to the show and Eric is a huge fan. I really need to pick up their new album, heard it's great!

7. Hiking in Laurel near where Eric lives. I'm sure we'll find somewhere and make it a nice day for some photo op's :)

6. Go see
500 Days of Summer because Zooey is wearing my stuff in it! :D

5. Enjoy a day in
Baltimore. Maybe an O's game, stop at the aquarium, sushi date, hunt for the perfect crab cakes. Sunset over the harbor... I can't imagine anything better.

4.
Work out!! Yes this is a bit high on the list but we need to get healthy. I am going to make my babe some delish dinners but we're going to get out and walk around, find a pool where he can teach me to swim (better cause he's a pro) and spend some time downstairs in the fitness center.

3. Lunch date at
Giordano's :D hopefully we make it to Chi on Wednesday because that is the anniversary of our first "date" and my first serious Chicago pizza. I think I only managed to eat a slice and a half but it was deliiish. He says that's where he knew he liked me, and that date did rekindle my crush :)

2.
Lollapalooza! Probably just the Friday end of it but Kings of Leon are aaaall I need to make me happy :) I had tons and tons of fun at the festival last year and need a taste of it this year.

1.
Lay on the couch and cuddle up to some HGTV! still no real idea where we're going to end up but we're going to need decor whenever/wherever we move :)

de chanel

Just like every girl dreams of Chanel and Paris and fashion... I think every lady has a mini girl crush on Miss Deschanel. Including this lady!

I mean how can you not? She's adorable, quirky, fashionable, smart, and she seems super down to earth like she'd be the best gal-pal you could have and loads of fun to be around. I fell for her in Elf and even forgive her for The Happening. It's alright, I can look beyond that!

WELL! Guess what?!?

I am very very excited and proud to say that Zooey is wearing my work in her new movie! My boss (Dominique Cohen) emailed us all yesterday to say that we need to go see 500 Days of Summer because Zooey is wearing her designs! It's all toward the end of the movie and we only have ideas of what they used but I am really really excited! I don't think I'll catch it this weekend, prob next weekend so I can make it a movie date with my hunny.

So do me a favor, look for a long rose gold chain toward the end which she wears doubled, rose gold post earrings (we've heard she wears them twice) and also our handbags but that's not confirmed. You can take a peek at our site and see what our bags look like. I am really excited! This is 1000x better than that Neiman's ad that never made it to print!

BTW, click over HERE! for a good link to our stuff. It is a little pricey but I can guarantee the work, after all, it is a lot of my craftsmanship. I do most the soldering and set up. As well as general logistics in the designs.

So please check it out and support! I can't wait to see it!! :)

Belated love

Two of my (fabulous!) besties in the whole wide world were born three days (and one year, but who's counting?!) apart! Their special days just graced us (Thursday and Sunday) but I think it's still safe to give them a special shout out :)

I met Holly in 2002 at a wild party ;) and we've had many many good times from then to now... unfortch, the ooold pics I had were on a computer that was stolen :( But we have a good amount to compensate, and those memories will never fade :) She is my fashionista go-to gal, like the older sister that I can always count on. I love her dearly!

We added to our little party in 2006 when we met Shannon in Memphis through another friend. Everyone was ready to crash by the time we got to the hotel and we were bouncing off the walls. We asked Shannon if she wanted to come out to the bars with us and by 4am we were attached at the hip. Those 3 days were some of the best of my life and memories I will treasure for a lifetime.

Shannon is my heart, my shining light... my confidant. She always makes me feel better, we take the bad and laugh at it. We fight through the shit and are real with each other. Our friendship is honest and pure, no secrets, no bullshit. I am very lucky and happy to have her and Holly in my life!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABES! I love and miss you both!
Wish we lived much much closer, but here's to seeing each other SOON! xoxoxo

Steps

In 2 weeks time, I'll be with Eric again :)

I am very excited. Right now, he is doing his part to heal and get back on track, and I am also taking steps and doing my part. I've been going to Al-anon for a few weeks and I really am responding well to it. I feel bad because I am not going as much as I would like to. I make excuses and make plans but at least I know I am doing what I can. I have to do that for us, but I also have to take care of me. I have to keep living my life.

The last meeting I went to really hit me hard, in a positive way. The theme was Slogans. You know them, "let go and let god," "one day at a time," "first things first," "live and let live," "this too shall pass." Some of them are cheesy as hell, but when someone said the last one out loud, it hit me like bricks.

No secret that I am a super-311 fan. They have a song called This Too Shall Pass and their entire message is based around being positive and simple similar slogans. "Stay positive and love your life," "do what thou wilt," "from chaos comes clarity" and longer quotes, "if there's a shadow in your life than there's sunshine,"  etc.

I realized this all starts with me. I need to change my outlook, I am doing my best. I already have some good stepping stones, but I have a lot to do. It was someone's 20th Al-anon birthday that week and everything she said meant a lot to me. It's healing to hear that this helps and this works for other people. I carry a lot of anger and negativity and react a lot. I need to find peace with myself and change the way that I respond. People hold a lot of negativity and anger in their hearts and that's something I really honestly try to steer away from, but it's really hard for me to just ignore it when it's constantly in my face.

So, here's to doing my best. Meetings are good but I am also happy to have 311 such a huge role in my life, the positivity, my friends who are like family... "I've got a clique but it's more like a family" I mean, there's not much else I could ask for. The rest has to come from me :)

It's also meant a lot to me to share what I am going through and have friends and acquaintances reach out to me. That's what the program is all about and that means so much to me. It's really a blessing.

so, THANK YOU

life without a camera

...is boring. I have lots of things and thoughts to share with you, but (I don't have a camera....) I am easily distractible and I have work to take home every night (even on holidays, hurrah!) I am working on a mac also which makes things 10000 times harder. I don't know how to do anything! curse apple and i-things and all of that. iCan't believe iWant an iPhone. (sorry I had to!)

Anyway.

Eric started rehab yesterday and he "graduates" July 31st. I get to see him when he completes 26 days. I can't wait.
